IF guidance for breastfeeding is extremely frustrating.

Most places that I’ve tried to find info on this say that you should never do intermittent fasting while breastfeeding. I’m 9 months postpartum with a healthy milk supply and I’m just wanting to start out with 14/10 or 16/8 until my baby is weaned. I don’t understand why either of those would be harmful to my baby if I eat enough calories during my eating window. I have a feeling that if I went to a doctor and said, “Hey, I don’t usually eat breakfast and don’t like to snack much. Is this ok for breastfeeding?” they would most likely answer with, “Of course, just make sure you’re eating enough overall.” But if I asked, “Can I do intermittent fasting while breastfeeding?” a doctor would be more hesitant to approve of it. I feel like I’m doing the “wrong thing” by starting IF, but the logic behind the guidance makes no sense to me. via /r/intermittentfasting https://ift.tt/NIK0VH9 https://ift.tt/nyg0qXi
