First Dexa scan for my starting point, was very surprised

33M, 5'9", 165lbs.I've basically been "skinny fat" for the past 10 years. I've started IF off and on in the past, but I finally got more serious about it and started doing an 18:6, 500 calorie deficit, and going to the gym 3x a week for about an hour. This started a few weeks ago.I'm one of those people who needs some quantitative measurement to see results and stay motivated, and since I am trying to recomp I didn't want to rely solely on the scale. So I went and had my first Dexa scan done today, as well as an RMR test. I expected to be around 25-30% body fat, but I came in at 36%! I knew I wasn't in great shape but I didn't know it was that bad.The results were eye-opening and have motivated me to stick to my diet and exercise and I am looking forward to going for another scan in 3 months to see my progress.Just wanted to share, if you can afford to go get one done I would recommend it. via /r/intermittentfasting https://ift.tt/CzQXhjZ https://ift.tt/DWKH49t
