Not a huge change but finally hitting the gym for 2 weeks straight after 6 months off. I’ve been doing 16:8 and lifting. Do you think lifting and IF calorie deficit will hurt my progress?

I’m pretty disgusting rn I’m 26 M 5’6 305lb. Been stressed since graduating school last year and always been overweight. I used to lift but stopped due to poor mental health. I decided last week life is stressful whether I workout or not. But being this heavy means no girl will look my way. Anyways I decided career and fitness come firstI’ve been going to the gym and IF for 2 weeks straight 5 days/wk. I’ve been lifting and doing 15 min walking. My parents keep telling me I’m too fat to be lifting and should only walk and eat 6 meals a day that are smaller. I’m also counting calories and trying to eat 1800 cal a day and do 16:8. But I wanna keep lifting. Funny thing is I actually feel stronger than when I was 230lb.Any motivation or advice? I wanna be fit with IF even if it’s too late and would like to keep lifting Thanks! via /r/intermittentfasting https://ift.tt/1dnix6X https://ift.tt/djAuwUR
