IF cured my Diabetes Type 2

I have heard about IF for many years and finally took the plunge.I lost quite a bit of weight from 125kg to 100kg over a long period of time.No exercise just IF and it was not sustained or intensive.Had good months when weight went down and months when it plateaued.Used to have severe diabetes type 2, and I was on quite a few medications. And my weight kept increasing from a low of 85kg to a peak of 125 kg.My medication pillbox was full of medication for diabetes, dosage and variety kept increasing year by year and doctor advised me that it was chronic and incurable. In my country doctors charge you a consultation fee and also sells you the medication that they prescribed. So after close to 15 years I changed from a private doctor to a government owned clinic instead. My HAB1c reached a peak of 14.x before I started my IF journey. As my HBA1C improved, I took less and less medication types and dosage also reduced.Today after close to 2 years doctor (government clinic) agreed that I could stop my final medication metformin of 250mg twice a day HBA1C has stabilised at 5.5 to 5.6 over the last 6 months. The main things that I did was.Cut all sugar from my diet no more soda no more heavily sugared iced coffee or iced tea with every mealChanged to black instant coffee and just normal Lipton tea bags (90/10) ratio.Water become my favourite liquid and I liked the fancy mineral waters but normally it's just filtered and boiled water.Diet wise, I eat maybe one meal a day, or two when I am off my IF.When on IF I will try to do 24-72 hour fasts.Diet wise it's very heavy carbs, due to being too poor to switch to a good keto diet.Plenty of rice with some vegetables, steamed eggs and some SPAM at best or soupy noodles with egg and some vegetable.I have been recently working in jobs that require lots of walking 20k to 32 k for a days work.IF works and it ain't the exercise that matters for it's the diet and mentality change that is the real power.Just wanted to share this with people that have diabetes type 2 that are starting their IF journey. It is curable!I am very happy today 😀 via /r/intermittentfasting https://ift.tt/LchsjnF https://ift.tt/pqGHiSV
