The journey has started!

First, I want to thank you for all the inspiration in this group!Weird how something just randomly hits you to make a lifestyle change. That moment came to me 3 weeks ago. I’m 56 years old. My wife and I have raised three amazing children. Everybody in my family is very health conscience except me. I spent the last 30 years working hard in my career to provide my family the best life I possibly could.I was laid off 2 years ago. I have stuff that keeps me very busy but not that physically active. 3 weeks ago I decided to officially retire, which was my trigger. I was always too busy with my career to really take care of myself. At least that was my excuse. I needed to change my eating habits and get more active.I realized this 3 weeks ago and started making changes. On June 1st, my OCD kicked into gear. When that happens, I get committed.Starting weight 221 lbs (5’9”). 20-4 IF with a 1pm to 5pm window. 1500-1800 calories/day. Including a salad with salmon, protein shake, yogurt, blueberries & raspberries, granola, and a protein bar. I usually throw a small cheat into my window. This week is is protein Doritos 🤣 This window slides an hour f/b based on my schedule that day but is always 4 hours.> I drink at least 100oz of water a day now> I’m averaging 17,500 steps a day this month. 1.5 mile walk with the dog in the morning plus a 5 mile walk> cut out Monster 1-2 per day> cut out Bourbon (3-4oz/day)As of June 17, i am down to 211 lbs (10 lbs lost). I have more energy, better mental clarity, my gut health had drastically improved, sleep better, and more motivated than ever. I feel great!I don’t have a weight goal. My only goal is to stick to this until Labor Day. I think the results at that time will be motivating enough to stay with some sort of plan after that, albeit modified.Wish me luck! And I want to truly thank you for all the inspiration that comes from this group!Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. via /r/intermittentfasting https://ift.tt/KGgbJ60 https://ift.tt/50Dqx2u
